What to Put in Your Wallet
I am sure that you have a wallet in your pocket. But, if you don’t have one, here are a few things to put in your wallet.
This list is not exhaustive and would always be subject to change depending on where you are and what you need.
A flashlight – If you’re out and about at night or looking for an item in the dark, having a flashlight as an essential is important. A credit card – Be sure to carry one with a lot of credit available because not being able to pay for something can be devastating if you’re about to go on a long trip or out of town. Cash – Carry some cash on your person so that you can avoid long lines at ATM machines and get a faster service from your bank teller when needed. Lip balm – The dry air around the winter months will cause dry lips and chapped skin, which means it’s more important than ever to keep lip balm with you all the time. A pen and paper – This is helpful when writing down information that could come in handy later on or jotting down phone numbers or notes when needed. Cellphone charger – You never know when your phone will die but having a charger helps make sure that happens less often. It’s also good to keep this charged while traveling with it too as cellphones are notorious for dying quickly without power nearby!
Cash
Cash is a necessity. It’s not just good for buying things, it’s also good for bartering and for emergencies. If you’re in a bind, you can use your cash to get out of it.
Credit Cards
Credit cards are by far the most important thing to have in your wallet. Credit cards allow you to spend money without needing cash or credit. They also help you pay for things in the future when you don’t have enough money to make those purchases now. There are many different types of credit cards, so it is important to research which one will be best for your needs.
ID
An ID card is always worth carrying with you. If a situation ever arises where you need to prove your identity, such as when applying for a job or renting an apartment, having an ID card on hand will be very important. You should also include your driver’s license, health insurance card and social security number in your wallet as well.
Phone/Wallet Case
One of the most important things in your wallet is your phone. This item is constantly on you, and it’s important that your phone isn’t damaged while you’re using it. You should ensure that you have a case to protect your phone when you’re out and about. A case like this can provide protection against drops, bumps, scratches, or anything else that might happen to your phone.
Passport
A passport is a card that will allow you to travel to another country. It’s an essential item for international travel that should be kept in your wallet at all times.
Gift Cards & Business Cards
You should always carry a few gift cards with you. If you’re in a situation where you run out of money and can’t buy food, you’ll want to have some gift cards with you. Gift cards are not just for food, however. You can also use them when buying clothes or other items that aren’t necessities.
You should also keep business cards on hand so that when people ask for your contact information, it’s easy to give it to them. Business cards are more effective than writing down your phone number or email address.
Lastly, don’t forget your ID! Carry it with you at all times in case of an emergency where police need to verify your identity.
